Profile

Simi has animated for Ice Age 1 (20th Century Fox). In New York, she directed animation for ad. films Subway Sandwiches, Kool-Aid, Norelco Razor and several station ids. In India, she directed Ad] Films for Cadbury, Hot Wheels, Vicks etc. She has also designed and directed music videos for Ashutosh & Dhruv Ghanekar and for Shiamak Davar.

Her short film A House of Cards commissioned by MTV, won 2nd prize at the Cardiff Animation Festival and was screened at the Ottawa and Hiroshima Animation Festivals. Her short films have been acquired by Channel 4 and Canal Plus. Her work has been screened at The Virginia Museum of Art, The New York Public Library and published in Adweek, Pixel and Computer Graphics World (USA) and DNA, Mumbai Mirror, and Animation Express (India).

She has conceived an animated rock-opera with co-writer Ashutosh Phatak. The Dream Blanket is her first animated script, with co-writer Shaiontoni Bose.
